v     June 13-18, 2004: Camp Willard Session I

A summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing children, the first session being a traditional camp for children entering grades 3-6. It will be held at Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac, Indiana and all deaf and hard of hearing children, regardless of educational program, are invited to participate. v     June 20-25, 2004: Camp Willard Session II

Similar to Session I only with an element of challenge for grades 7-12.

 

v     July 12-23, 2004: Summer School

v     July 16-18, 2004: Family Conference

The Department of Health Newborn Screening Program in collaboration with  Outreach Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in the State of Indiana, will be hosting a conference for families of newly identified deaf and hard of hearing children. v     July 25-31, 2004: Deaf Youth Sports Festival

The Deaf Youth Sports Festival is a week long sporting/recreational event that is held on the campus of the University of Louisville and is for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in grades K-12. For more information, contact Sherri McGannon, sgnqueen@aol.com

 

v     August 3, 4, 2004: Conference for Teachers of the Deaf

The conference is scheduled for August 3rd & 4th at Sanders Elementary School in Indianapolis and will cover such topics as universal design, children with additional disabilities, and technology and cochlear implants.
